What is Grin and Win?

“You only live once, but if you live right, once is enough.” As a high school student, this is the motto our mom decided she would live by. She approached every day with a fierce, competitive spirit and a smile on her face, showing us that hard work and a positive, never-give-up attitude are the keys to ‘living right’.

Our mom had the goal of attending Lehigh University to further her education and play field hockey and lacrosse. However, she did not have the financial means to achieve this goal on her own. Thankfully, she was able to obtain financial aid, grants, and scholarships so that she could make her goal a reality. These scholarship funds would not have been available without the financial support of generous people who wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.

Now it’s our opportunity to help a hard working Lehigh scholar athlete achieve her goal, and we need your help!

This year will be our 9th Annual Cheryl Miller Flamini scholarship fundraising event.   We are changing it up this year and will be celebrating our mom’s zest for life at 10am on September 17, 2022 at Lehigh University. Please mark your calendar for a Grin and Win Tailgate preceding Lehigh’s football game vs. Richmond and as a bonus there will be a Fall Women’s Lacrosse tournament played at Banko Field. Here are the details:

Lehigh University Murray H. Goodman Campus/Ulrich Sports Complex

151 Goodman Drive

Bethlehem, PA 18015

Tailgate Starts at 10am

Location: Mistele Pavilion — across from Banko Field/Ulrich Sports Complex (in front of Rauch Field House)

The Cheryl Miller Flamini (CMF) scholarship was awarded in 2022 to Casey — a class of ‘25 Business major and lacrosse midfielder — we are excited to be part of Casey’s Lehigh career. We also can’t wait to meet her at the tailgate and see her play in the Fall Lacrosse tournament. The second CMF scholarship recipient, Giavanna ‘21 and ‘22 graduated from Lehigh with both her bachelors and masters degrees (Industrial Engineering and Management Science & Engineering respectively) and is working in New Jersey. Nicolette ‘18, the first scholarship recipient graduated with a Computer Science and Business major and is working in New York City.  You can hear directly from both Giavanna and Nicolette on what the scholarship has meant to them … click here.

As always — please feel free to make a donation to the scholarship fund!

Thank you for your generosity and support,

Trevor, Jake and Talia
